About Us

OB is a Johns Hopkins trained engineer and T-Rat is an Air Force Academy grad. They both had different reasons for wanting a reliable way to feed the 1.75 inch shells. Being a fan of shotguns for home self-defense, OB wanted a way to get his wife and daughters interested in a 12ga without scaring them with the recoil. T-Rat, on the other hand, didn’t care about recoil until his father, an avid shooter of 70 years, had rotator cuff surgery and a stroke over the course of a few months. It’s a sad day when you tell a Korean War veteran he can’t shoot his shotgun anymore.

OB likes shoulder stocks for accuracy, T-Rat, pistol grips, for portability, weight and maneuverability. The OPSol Mini-Clip™ had to be reliable for shooters of varying degrees of competency. We at OPSol think its extremely important to practice with any firearm you intend to use, however, let’s face it, while the low recoil response should get folks to put in more practice time, some just won’t get around to it.

A lot of good ole American grit and ingenuity, not to mention thousands of 1.75 inch shells, went into this project and we hope you can benefit from it. To be able to take a low priced Maverick 88, a box of 1.75 inch shells, and an OPSol Mini-Clip™ and hand it to our wives or daughters or Goddaughters or nieces or fathers or uncles etc., gives us peace of mind “911” never will.
